Fall Educator Network Webinar with Yimmuaj Yang and Pa Thao Nov 14!

We sure hope you'll join us for this exciting opportunity to hear from two Hmong farmers and community leaders about their history of loving land and their careers in advocacy. If you've been wondering what the Educator Network is and if it's for you - Team WiWiC wants you to know that everyone supporting women to advance earth-healing practices is an educator! We love how this network brings together technical professionals, ag advocates, volunteers with conservation non-profits, local government leaders, and folks who are mentoring and encouraging neighbors to pursue their conservation goals. So hop on the Zoom today!

Yimmuaj Yang, Community Director with Groundswell Conservancy in Madison, supports Hmong and other BIPOC producers throughout the state to find land to grow on and resources to build farm businesses. She was named a 2023 Woman to Watch by Brava Magazine and we can understand why! Read the article HERE.

Pa Thao, co-founder and Executive Director of Black and Brown Womyn Power Coalition, is also a farmer at Maiv Flower Farm, which she runs with her mom, and a WiWiC Conservation Coach in the North West Region. Many of us got to visit this beautiful healing farm at our field day there this August. Pa has a long history of advocacy for the Hmong community and women and children. She won a Chippewa Valley Vanguard Award in 2019 for her local and international impact as the former executive director of the Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association. Read more HERE.

We know life is busy and making it to events is sometimes difficult during the work day. But we believe the stories and strategies shared by our Educator Network presenters are important and worth hearing and re-hearing. You can always find them archived on the WiWiC playlist on the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute's YouTube channel within a week or so. We have all of our webinars and podcasts available there - going all the way back to 2021. There's a lot of good stuff on there!

If you're curious about what the Educator Network Zoom Meet-ups are like, watch our previous one from Spring. The Educator Network meets on Zoom once every Spring and every Fall, and we have and in-person Educator Network every two years. Here's is the Flickr album from our 2023 event. Save the date for our 2025 Conference on April 25!
